The Minister of Justice, Fadei Nagacevschi paid a working visit to Penitentiary no. 6-Soroca
Today, September 14, 2020, the Minister of Justice, Fadei Nagacevschi and the interim director of the National Administration of Penitentiaries, Vladimir Cojocaru, paid a working visit to Penitentiary no. 6 – Soroca. In this penitentiary were put into operation 21 cells from the disciplinary isolator, also the gym hall inside the institution was opened.
During the visit, Fadei Nagacevschi inspected the institution's canteen, the recently renovated gym and the State Enterprise "OŞC 29/6 Soroca", located on the territory of the penitentiary institution. The enterprise currently involves in production activities 25 detainees, an excellent example to follow for involving the persons deprived of their liberty in the economic activity of penitentiaries throughout the country.
Also, the situation at the level of the institution was presented to the Minister of Justice regarding the accommodation capacity, the social reintegration activities carried out, the regimes for the execution of custodial sentences, working conditions of the staff, main achievements and current challenges, as well as the priorities of the penitentiary activity for the next period.
This visit is, in fact, part of the constant dialogue that the Minister of Justice, Fadei Nagacevschi has with the representatives of the penitentiary administration system in order to strengthen the institution, develop and improve the penitentiary infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova. As well, the aim is to increase performance for ensuring accommodation in detention in accordance with international standards, respect for the human rights and freedoms of persons in detention, meanwhile ensuring the implementation of the state policy in the field of the execution of custodial sentences.
