Today is celebrated around the world the International Day of Democracy, based on the United Nations resolution. On this special day, meant to highlight the importance of protecting the democracy, a universal value, I congratulate you and wish you to continue perceiving the democracy as a concept always desirable to achieve.
This goal involves promoting a democratic culture, educating the whole society in the spirit of a tolerant attitude, which will ensure the functioning of a healthy democracy.
A democracy is strong when the whole society focuses on protecting the rights of the most vulnerable, those who really need most protection for their rights.
The achievement of a democrat future, that each of us wants for next generations, depends on the responsible attitude, the active and substantial involvement of each of us in all democratic processes, which will ensure increased performance and progress in all areas.
I encourage you, dear citizens, to respect the rights and freedoms of every person in order to guarantee their accomplish and the consolidation the rule of law, the functioning of all democratic principles, which will in fact allow the exercise of a democratic governance, the proper functioning of state institutions in a democratic spirit.
