Congratulatory message from the Minister of Justice, Fadei Nagacevschi on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the signing of the European Convention on Human Rights
The celebration of the 70th anniversary of the signing of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) is a unique event to reconfirm the important role of the ECHR in strengthening justice at the global level.
The Convention has fully matured by expanding its scope, which is the most powerful and advanced international mechanism for the protection of the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens. It is also a core for the progress and development of a democratic society, institutional guarantees, which are meant to ensure the qualitative performing of the act of justice.
I believe that we are witnessing the culmination of a long and remarkable historical process of strengthening European aspirations, in which human dignity, human rights, democracy, the rule of law are a common heritage of ideals that define each Member State.
The implementation by the Republic of Moldova of ECHR standards has undoubtedly improved, strengthened and improved the human rights institution and the national legal framework.
As Minister of Justice, I express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the professional work of all those involved in promoting the sustainable protection of the universal principles of humanity, as well as the values of the European Convention on Human Rights.
