On 04.11.2020, the General Inspectorate of Police informed the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova about the arrest of Mihai (Rizea) Cristian on 03.11.2020, announced in international search by the Romanian authorities.

Mihai (Rizea) Cristian was convicted by criminal sentence to 4 years and 8 months imprisonment, for committing the offenses provided by the Criminal Code of Romania (doc. no. 680 of 07.12.2017, pronounced by the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania).

On 04.11.2020, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova informed the Ministry of Justice of Romania about the detention of cet. Mihai (Rizea) Cristian and as well informed about the offcial request needed to be provide by the Ministry of Justice of Romania for the extradition of the appointed person, with the annexation of the necessary documents according to stipulations of the art. 12 of the European Convention on Extradition, signed on 31.12.1957.

At the same time, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova informed the Ministry of Justice of Romania about the publication in the Official Journal (no. 285 of 03.11.2020) the Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova no. 1823-VIII of 02.11.2020 regarding the withdrawal of the citizenship of Mr. Mihai (Rizea) Cristian.

On 05.11.2020, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova received from the Romanian Ministry of Justice the request for extradition of the citizen. Mihai (Rizea) Cristian and the annexed documents needed in this regard.
