
July 21, 2026, Chisinau – The Ministry of Justice warns citizens about a new fraud attempt, in which the name of the institution and the identity of the management are misused to obtain money and personal data.
Letters and e-mails containing documents falsely presented as having been issued by the Ministry of Justice have been identified.They imitate official state symbols and fraudulently use the names of individuals and public institutions.The authors request payment of commissions and promise the subsequent transfer of amounts of money left as inheritances.
The documents are fake and were not issued by the Ministry of Justice.Such messages are not sent on behalf of other dignitaries or public institutions.
At the same time, we remind you of the attempted scam reported at the beginning of the month, in which unknown persons contact citizens by phone, claiming to be employees of Nova Post and stating that they have correspondence sent by the Ministry of Justice to deliver.
The Ministry of Justice emphasizes that:
- does not request payment of commissions for alleged money transfers or inheritances;
- does not use Nova Post to send correspondence;
- does not request bank details, authentication codes or other confidential information by phone, email or messaging applications.
If you receive such calls or messages:
- do not send personal or banking data;
- do not make payments;
- do not access the links received;
- immediately notify the Police at 112.
